ふろしき回収にご協力ください!!

総合地球環境学研究所・浅利研究室では、万博を契機として日本の伝統文化・ふろしきを見直すプロジェクトを始めました。万博会場では、プラ製レジ袋の配布・販売が原則として禁止されます。ふろしきは、たたむとハンカチのように小さくなり、広げればかなり大きなお土産なども包むことができます。色や柄もバラエティ豊かで、包み方も自由自在。

このプロジェクトでは、家庭に眠っているふろしきを、そのふろしきの思い出などと一緒に送っていただき、万博会場（京都物産出品協会によるお土産屋さん「おこしやす 京の小路」）で世界各地からの来場者にプレゼントします。ふろしき一枚一枚にQRコード等が付され、新たな持ち主は、贈り主である皆様のメッセージに触れることで、来歴や思い出を手繰ることができます。そして、ふろしきに新しい命を吹き込んでくれることでしょう。

３．Please help us collect furoshiki!!

The Asari Laboratory at the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature has launched a project to reevaluate Japan’s traditional culture of furoshiki in connection with the Expo.

At the Expo venue, the distribution and sale of plastic shopping bags will generally be prohibited. Furoshiki can be folded into a compact size like a handkerchief, yet when unfolded, they are large enough to wrap even big souvenirs. They come in a wide variety of colors and patterns, and their wrapping styles are highly versatile!

This project invites people to donate unused furoshiki from their homes, along with memories or stories associated with them. These furoshiki will be gifted to visitors from around the world at the Expo venue’s souvenir shop, “Okoshiyasu Kyo no Koji,” operated by the Kyoto Products Exhibition Association.

Each furoshiki will be tagged with a QR code, allowing its new owner to connect with the donor’s message and learn about its history and significance. Through this exchange, these traditional cloths will gain new life and meaning.
